Show us something unbelievable.
Merry Christmas?
While everyone's enjoying their warmed turkey for Christmas, let this remind them that there are people out there who do not even have a warmed seat... It's not unbelievable but its something no one chooses to think about when they're busy having fun...
I received a shipment of 16 scorplings (Heterometrus Spinifer) last week. Due to lousy packing, 10 of the scorplings died. 7 of them died during shipment... It boils down to the method used for packing and shipping inverts..
The right way is not done like this:
Nada...
You DO NOT put substrate into the container and expect it not to move around. In the normal world, people would call it as a stupid move or being idiotic. The fact is that, during shipping, the package/parcel, WILL turn upside down and etc.. And the substrate, will NOT stay the same way when it arrives. Luckily, the rest of the scorplings made it barely alive and I had to put them with their mother...
word...
I woke early one morning,
The earth lay cool and still
When suddenly a tiny bird
Perched on my window sill,
He sang a song so lovely
So carefree and so gay,
That slowly all my troubles
Began to slip away.
He sang of far off places
Of laughter and of fun,
It seemed his very trilling,
Brought up the morning sun.
I stirred beneath the covers
Crept slowly out of bed,
Then gently shut the window
And crushed his little head.
I'm not a morning person...
A common sight in the country and pet trade, the prasina is a completely green snake. Two other known colour phases include a gold variant and a grey colour. Juveniles may start out as yellow or green in colour that generally fades to a green hue later in life. Prasina occupies a wide range of habitats from secondary jungles all the way up to mountainous regions. When in a defensive posture, prasinas will puff up their necks, revealing net-like black and white patterns across the ventral region.
In captivity, prasinas were observed to be good feeders but only on live prey. Prasinas will take anything from house geckos to small mice when feeding. However, ensure that the prey is small enough to be swallowed or risk suffocation. A similar subspecies is named ahaetulla mycterizan, possessing a lighter colour and smaller body.

-------------------
The new addition to my collection of exotics. I've been told by people that these snakes are kinda common but the point is that a wild caught one and a captive bred one has different temperaments. Wild caught ones tend to carry lots of bacteria and mites as well which are obviously harmful to humans. I have three prasinas right now. I've given the ownership rights for two of them to my dearest sister (Christmas mood!) and one for me. They're all housed together in the same vivarium anyway so it doesn't really matter... and since she's studyin in KL and comes back everytime the moon turns blue, it REALLY doesn't matter... Cos I'll be the one taking care of them...
Now the problem comes in catching geckos. The normal house geckos. How the hell am I supposed to do that? I have to catch THREE every week... Its like a weekly mission now... Dang.
I wish I can climb walls to catch them... Anyway, notice the prasina in the background of the last picture? When I returned after a days work, I found that all three of them went to that position... Next to their aquarium is Set's aquarium... THEY WERE EYEING HER!
lol...
word.
Let me tell you a story...
I got rid of my old clothes today. The ones I have not worn in a year and the ones I do not plan to wear the next year. None tattered. Maybe a few small torns here and there but all still very good. Some are gone because I don't like the colour. Obviously, they weren't purchased by me... I folded them and packed them into plastic bags. Mom suggested I donated them to a local charity house for them to sell out at cheaper prices. I hate charity organizations. I believe these donations should go directly to the poor. I don't see the point of charity organizations earning off donations... This is the same reason why I do not donate anything to the church. The detailed explanation of my very actions can easily fill up a whole book to convince charity organization supporters... Thats not the whole point of what I'm trying to explain, so stop thinking about it...
I drove up to the community bin. There's one a couple of blocks away. I know that there'll be a few people who'd rummage the bin and they'd be happy to get my clothes. I stopped by the bin. There were four bins. One was burning and had a giant flame. I figured that it must've contained flammables. Five or four guys were rummaging the bins. I think there was a lil kid there too...
"Kamu mahu baju? (Do you want clothes?)" I asked one of the guys there. He smiled and approached me. I handed out the bags of clothes to them. They were excited and they tore it open immediately in one corner. Each of them quickly took what they wanted...
I drove away from the bin but decided to make one big turn just to check how they divided the clothes. Nosy me. I saw one guy took a blue Nicole shirt, and tried to put it on. It couldn't fit and he was having a hard time trying to fit it. Two other guys came and looked at him. They had a much smaller body frame than the first guy did and they obviously had the intention of trying on the shirt. The first guy, he noticed this. Kinda annoyed with their presence, he tossed the bag he was holding to them and asked them to look for what they wanted in there. While they were busy rummaging through the bag, he walked towards the burning bin, and threw the shirt in there...
The shirt that he could not fit into...
The issue in question here is the judgment. Our conviction of those suffering in poverty. Who deserves to receive donations? Who deserves our judgment? I believe in karma. A poor person is there for a reason. I see plenty of elderly beggars in my locale. I look into their eyes and I see the kind of lives they lived before. The lives they had when they were young and able. Young punks who had total disrespect and were governed by no laws, young parents trying to make it through their livelihood, hunters with no fear of anything. Now they're old and dying. The conviction of their actions close in on them. Close in so fast, they don't have time to blink. Their days are over and some cannot accept the fact. Those who've lived with poverty all their lives are humble enough to know the real value of money. That money does not come free. They've gotta work for it. Be it selling tissue packets, sing, or make handicrafts. Those who are too proud to live with poverty retain their hate for the world out there for putting them in that position. They go crazy thinking about what they deserve and fail to stop and look at their position in the social hierarchy. They are the ones who cannot accept the fact and whine about it day and night doing nothing about it. They grow with envy towards those who have better lives than them...
Even fellow poverty stricken neighbours.
Such people do exist. Surprisingly, there are many of them...
When you look into the eyes of a beggar, what do you see?
