Visited the Taman Tumbina park cum zoo in Bintulu town. It was open day so entrance was free. I've never been there before so it was kinda thrilling to see the animals. Me, animal lover.
How can you not fall in love with this???
Gala and I with the Blood Python. Petting zoo opened to all so it was really interesting. Azfar didn't dare touch it until he saw this...
so... he gathered his balls, and...
...did it. lol~
love wildlife...
love the animals of the world...
Attended the Bakun Hydroelectric Dam site last weekend. Organized by the engineering club of our campus. Its the second largest dam in the world so we gotta pay our homage to it as engineers.
Kinda like a pilgrimage for geeks.
The journey to the junction took us almost 3 hours. Then another 3 hours into the junction to reach the hydroelectric site. Inspiring trip for future engineers like me.
At least there's hope that I will have some job to do in the future...
'best in singapore n jb~'
Four future engineers. Miss my shades...
DA inspired pics~
Again, the four future engineers. More like future posers~
I don't see my fuckin shades here... guess it got lost here...
Emo workers??? lol~
This ends the Bakun Hydroelectric Dam chapter.
There's something about the look in your eyes
Something I noticed when the light was just right
It reminded me twice that I was alive
And it reminded me that you're so worth the fight
House is being repainted. Car is being repainted. Computer just got repaired yesterday. Stayin in my house without a car and computer takes away a really large portion of my life... Spent time cleaning the room (for the millionth fuckin time) and I hope its good enough now. Mom offered me 50 bucks if I can keep it clean...
My biggest fear will be the rescue of me
Strange how it turns out that way, yeah
Could you show me dear
Something I've not seen
Something infinitely interesting
But I didn't do it for the money. I swear! Cross my ass and hope to live~
There's something about the way you move
I see your mouth in slow motion when you sing
More subtle than something, someone contrives
Your movements echo that I have seen the real thing
Well.. maybe just a tiny bit. Dire need of financial support right now. Finding out MIL wants a rich SIL is bad enough!
Your biggest fear will be the rescue of you
Strange how it turns out that way, yeah
Could you show me dear
Something I've not seen
Something infinitely interesting
Just love chilling at the beach. Breathing in the salty breeze... The wind becomes my lullaby... and I never want to part with the sea... Thanks to my gramps. He passed his captivation of the sea down to me. Love the old man. Can't deny that I'm a lil emo and mellow today...
Have always been reading articles from Animalpak.com. Its been 3 years now and I have been saving up articles from that website. I think its really good motivation for everyone in all walks of life. No-bullshit-self-empowerment-motivation-words-of-wisdom.
Excerpt from Animalpak.com:
Did you ever notice that sometimes to accomplish things that are very difficult we need to do things we don’t like? Sometimes we even hate the things we must do. If we accept the tedious tasks before us that lead to accomplishment in all fields, we stand to reap the rewards that come with success and victory. This is no small coincidence. In fact, it’s the basis for the competitive social model that we are indoctrinated into from our first steps across the living room floor.
We are taught to compete in classrooms, playgrounds and on ballfields all across this country. We are told that to win or to succeed we need to work hard and sacrifice, we need to train our minds and our bodies so that we may apply all of our training and mental powers to the pursuit of victory. We all do this to varying degrees. Over the years the concept of discipline and hard work through dedication and sacrifice have gone out of style in the mainstream, so to speak. However success and power and wealth have remained very much in style. No surprise there.
The troubling thing I see in every pursuit, including bodybuilding, is an overriding idea that one can succeed through shortcuts or half-hearted measures and tactics. The thing that is screwing up the works is simple confidence. I do not like the word or what it means. I think confidence will fool you every time, it will destroy your ambitions and desires. It will leave you only with disappointment and regret.
Think about it, remember back when you were a kid. Dad tells you, “Get out there and kick some ass… You better win son.” Then Mom smiles at you reassuringly and says, “You are a winner and you always will be no matter what happens.” No wonder we’re all fucked up. In the same moment we are told anything short of winning is not an option but even if we don’t win we are great and a champion no matter what. You can’t have it both ways.
You must do the work to receive the reward. But how when overconfidence sabotages all we endeavor to accomplish. Live as if no one can see you. Speak as if no one can hear you. Listen only when you hear the truth. Thirst for the work more than you desire the reward. Stop indulging in the folly of overconfidence or it will be your ruin.
Competition in all its forms is good. It propels us onward even though we are clumsy and unprepared for its rewards. We must remember that confidence kills. It will rob you of your desire and cheat you out of future victories and success. The ones who stay successful are those who realize the hunt is never over. One touchdown or one hundred touchdowns are the same thing if you don’t value the work.
That statement is appropriate especially in our pursuit because the definitions for success are so warped and limiting in nature. That is why I preach success in work as defining concept and not the empty belief that a little work will bring a great reward. If you thirst for and value the work, then no one can rob you of a victory. No man is worthy to judge you. You will know no defeat and you will never fall victim to confidence.
Love this shit...
Tapai (ta-pa-eye) - Fermented rice delicacy. Bought plenty of this during the weekly visit to the night market.
Eaten chilled, this healthy food can easily substitute as a dessert for ice cream or even wine.
Texture is like soggy wet rice with a thick alcoholic aroma.Very sweet...
And no, you dont fuckin eat the whole thing with its leaves. You gotta peel the leaves to expose the white soft, alcoholic rice underneath.
A bit like rice + sweet white wine!
There ya go~
Food for the gods...
Show us your team!
